“Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”--coco chanel

I trust that everyone had a fantastically fabulous 4th of July weekend. Were there fireworks where you were??  I missed them this year (we couldn’t even find sparklers!), but I did find some bright and sparkly prints. This summer should be about bright colors and fun prints. After all, we need something to brighten up the sad state of our economy and job market. I’ve put a few examples of these on the side. All are from Nordstrom and are under $100. www.nordstrom.com

My inspiration outfit this week shows how color can be done without looking like a 10-year-old girl. You don’t have to take it this far, but knowing that certain colors can be worn together will increase the number of outfits you can get out of your closet. Color is a great accessory.  And all of these tops will look great with these $25 boot-cut jeans from Old Navy.

Create your own fireworks!
